Comeback

It's been a very long time since I last posted on here, but I think it's time to comeback to posting, at least for now. To sum-up what how poker has been for me since I last posted, I ended up winning a little over $8k in a $22R, i also made it to the top 45 of the $215 sunday back to back, out of around 7k entrants each time. But.... I started playing $30/$60 stud and stud hi/lo, which was very streaky. I started playing it because I had friends in town and no time for mtts, but then i got swept up by the rush of winning $1k in 3 hands, and then started losing, and that's where my problem began. I'm back griding $22 sngs, which is fun most of the time, as long as I run close to neutral. School starts in two weeks, and considering that I just finished 6 weeks of summer school, I hope I get enough playing in before I have to go back to the academic grind.

Sorry for not having posted in a while...for anyone who does read this blog. I've been busy with school and just trying to do better in poker the past week. I got down to $500 again, and got back up to $1k before last night's FT. Kyle was on his way to austin from seattle, and i was in the $11R 35k guarantee. I lost chips over the second hour, which isn't usually good, and then once i dbled up to 40k, i donked half my stack off on a missed flush draw, to a total fish...woops. The guy who i donked half my stack to decided to smooth call my AT raise w/ JJ. The flop came A A T, so i just had to figure out how to sucker him into putting me ai. I checked, he bet half the pot, i min raised, like i had when i bluffed the flush draw on the turn. Then on then turn it went check check, and i shoved the river, and got his call. Then i raised KTo, and the same guy this time min reraised me. I called, flop K x K. i checked to him and he played right into me, shoving....i call, he turns over QQ and i turn the T for the boater. I then slowly built up my stack, until i had 400k, and KK as the bb. AJhh raised it to 36k, i reraised to 84k, and he rereraised ai for 200k total. I call and he flops the nut flush...and so i am now down to 200k, tho i coulda been at 600k had i won that pot. i get AT on button, shove and am insta called by the sb and his 44, which is his entire stack. flop T T river A, another boatie for me. I quickly lost 100k of my now 400k w/ 66 v 99, which i called only because i had 20k in the bb and button shoved for 90k more... easy call imo. I got blinded down to 200k, and shoved TT from utg when the tbl was around 7 handed. the guy behind me reshoved JJ, and i flopped the set. At around 500k, i got KK to hands later as bb. Someone limped for 30k, the sb raised it up to around 120k, and i reraised it up to 320k. sb called, and the flop came 7 7 x. he checked and i shoved for my 200-250k more, and he thought called me w/ AK. turn and river came T T, so i dbled up again to around 900k. I got 66 on sb the next hand, and the loose pre raiser on the tbl raised it as he did a lot. the flop came A 6 x, i checked and he bet 1/4th his stack, i check raise, and he basically insta folds. I make it to the FT w/ around 1.1 million in chips of the total 8 million chips. The biggest fish at the table had a slight lead, and continued increasing his lead, as he mad incrediably loose calls preflop w Ax and kept out-flopping or out-turning bigger hands. i raised KQcc one hand, and he repopped me pre for 200k more, so i folded. i then raised 55 and he called from bb, flop came A J 8, he led out for 2x bb, and i knew that if he had any pair he was calling my reraise, so i folded. he had been raising A8 and Ax's pre, so when he raised and i picked up AJo, i shoved ai over for my 500k chips. he called w/ 77 and held, felting me in 6th place. I'm pretty happy with the results, although i wish i could have made it to the top 3 at least. I made $1700 or so, which is nice. I did play extremely tight and never got reraised pre but on my KT vs QQ. I got ul one hand, and then lucky a hand after that. So, all-in-all, the luck was alright in the tourney. hopefully the next FT i get to i can win a race....since i've lost the last two FTs due to losing 3 races...poop. Anyways, i'm at my condo at south padre island, and shall be taking some pictures for the thousands of viewers to read. peace out.

Another FT Bubble for the Record Books...

I'm not so much disapointed w/ today, as i am annoyed. I didn't play a single sng, because i just wanted to try mass mtt's. I got home around 2pm from class with some Japenese food, yum....played both $55 mtts, both $11R and the $22R, the $25+2.50, as well as a satelite to the Sunday $215 and a satelite to the nightly $162. I monied the $25, would have had a huge lead, but i slowplayed my set of tens to a guy who raised suited gappers, to have him hit runner runner flsuh on me, oh well. Then in the $22R i got in again for just $62, but AK lost to QQ pre again, no biggie. In the $162 mtt at night, we started w/ 2k in chips, and w/ 2 minutes left in the first hour, i had 1100 chips, so utg raised QQ and i shoved AJo back at him to suckout...not like i thought he had QQ.....I hovered around 3k chips for...oh 40 more minutes, getting nothing or being raised before i could act. Finally i got QQ and beat AQ's push. Then a couple hands later i got AK and got a short stack shove, then a reraise behind him, so i shoved over it all. AQ vs JJ vs my AK, and i flopped the K and turned the A....so woo i won a race-. I was now around 15k, w/ still around 150 players left. From then on it was smooth sailing, because that's when i do my best in mtts, when i have enough chips to fold and wait. I got to final 18, and was so excited because first was a nice $30k, but got AI 88 vs QQ w/ no suckout, such crappppppp. Still made a nice $1k, so i'm happy ....i guess.

So Close It Sucks

Today was good to a degree. I was down in sng's on the end of the day, but hit Platinum Star! WOO. I played the $22R and the $11R at night, ended up getting 21st in the $22R and 34th int he $11R. I played the $22R perfect, made relatively no bad plays, besides not fast playing my set when the guy to my right had an over pp, because the turn put out a gutshot str8 on the board. I got some setups w/ QQ v JJ for a huge pot, and then won a big race w/ 44 vs AK to put me back on top. Then TMay raised utg, as he had done 50% of the time, and since he's got pos. on me and is just a better player post flop, i shoved my 300k stack in from sb w AQhh, leggy (bb) insta called and then TMay folded. Leggy obv woke up w KK, and even tho i flopped 2 hearts, i missed everything, sigh....i hadn't sucked out yet on an AI...in that mtt! comeon ps.... That put me down from 300k to about 80k. After another rotation i just took my J6 and shoved, and the bb called and felted me w/ AJo. Then I was in the $11R still, which I was hoping would be my second chance. I had a nice stack earlier till some retard decided to shove his bottom pair on me and river me for a 30k pot, leaving me w/ only 30k in chips. I finally stole blinds w/ around 150 left, and then shoved A8 in mid-late pos, to be called by AT. flop 7 8 9, and i somehow held to dbl up. Then after a table change, utg raised and i reshoved 66, which is turning out to be my hand in many mtt's as of late...he insta calls w/ KK, and i'm seeing the $22R in a different view. This time i flop my set and hold, and feel bad, but good at the same time, while i have kyle spaming shit in aim, wish he could have his old luck back, it puts my luck to shame. So w/ two suckouts and top 10 of 60, i felt good. Then AK shoves utg, and i call w/ AQo for about half my stack. Flop Q J J, but he hit "river river" clubs for the flush on me. Oh well, thought AQ was good, hard to fold that hand there to an utg shove who's short... I finally got to where another player, who was somewhat loose, shoved in mid-late pos, and i thought about it for a while, and made the "worst call of the day" by calling him w/ AThh. He turned over AQdd and flopped the flush draw, and held. I guess it was just a long day for me, class, test, and then 4 hours of 2 differnet rebuy's. I have no shame about the $22R, but the $11R i could have done better, esp after i got so lucky to be that far w/ those 2 suckouts. Oh well....tomrorow i hope will be better in mtts..

Today was a good day, took a test early in the day, visited my sister's new little puppy, and then came home to grind $55 sngs. I needed 1600 more vpp's in the next 2 days for platinum star, so i played 4 $55's at once while i played 4 tbls of $.50/$1. After about an hour of rings, i jumped off +$65 or so, having been up to +$180, just played too many hands i guess, plus kept getting outflopped even after i raised pre...sigh. Anyways, i only need 715 more vpps tomorrow, tho i'll only have from 5pm till midnight to get them, sicne i have class till then ;'( Anyways, 1 day closer to SB! WOO....

Vacation

I took a couple days vacation from posting on here because i was running under neutral and doing badly, but i've come back from most of the damage. I was down to $400 from 2 straight bad days, but i'm now back around $900 from sngs. I haven't been playing too many mtts, tho i did play the $55 mtt earlier today. i started playing more $33 sngs for a while, and was liking it, but i just got tired of 8 tbling, it can be so annoying. i started 4 tbling $55 sngs, which i haven't been doing too well in, but 25% of them have been bubbles and another 20% are 5th places, due to races or just live cards mopping my ass. I also keep getting 3rd somehow, because i win races early in sngs, but i get this 3 handed curse that crushes me somehow, weird. I need 1600 more vpp's by the end of the month, aka in 2 days, in order to hit platinum star, which might be a little challenging considering i have 2 hard tests the next 2 days, but i'll do ittttttt. spring break is only a week and a half away! considering i'm prolly leaving for mcallen on friday morning w/ kyle. Sadly, my group of friends from plano aren't coming down till wednesday morning, because 2 of them go to UNT which has a different spring break week off, WTF? oh well, we're going to stay there till sunday or monday morning, and then come up to austin and party a little bit up here. Alex and greg also better stay at my condo the entire fucking week, so i can beat them live in poker again, well at least beat greg, i've already beaten alex so many times this past session of live games, it's gotta be annoying for him... but it'll be mucho fun. Look for more updates sooon. and btw, i was told limp calling w KQ in a sng is a good play, esp when the limper knows i'm shoving a low pp. that's the "worst call of the day." peace out.

Today wasn't very good. I was basically even in sngs, but ul in mtts, as well as tossed about $100 into a satelite. I'm just going to stick to sngs and $33 and under mtts for the next couple of days to makeup what i lost today. "worst call of the day" was when 9cTc limp called my AI w/ JJ over AK, flop A 8 8c, turn Jc, river Qc for his str8 flush. pretty awesome.

Half and Half Day

Today was going down hill in mtts, until i saved my loses with some fine sng wins. I played both $55 mtts, both $11Rs, the $11+1R+1Addon, and the $33 and $22 mtts at night. In the $11+1R i was in first place from the 90 minute mark until we got down to around 30 people, when my hands died. I got to the FT with about 200k chips, average being 250k. I picked up 99 and raised near the cutoff, for the sb to shove AI on me for almsot 80% my stack. I knew i was racing or ahead, and since i wanted to win, i called. he turned over AJ and flopped his A, to take the 400k pot, leaving me with around 65k in chips. I shoved a couple hands, and then got AA and dbled up through TT. i was at 320k, when the earlier TT player limped, followed by a AI call from the short stack, and i was sb w TT, so i just shoved, only to be INSTA called by the sb w AQo, and he turned his Q. He was pretty bad tho....he limped AK earlier in second pos, after i folded KJhh pre, and let JQ hit a str8 on him and then paid him off in full. Then he goes insta calling me, and winning? bah. That was a 600k pot. If only i could have won a race on the FT, i would have won or at least taken second again.... oh well. I also bubbled the $55k tonight because i shoved AK in late and QQ called. flop A and river Q. Guess my races died out at the same time my mouse batteries did...gay. AWESOME DAY!!!!

Today started out with school, until i got home around 7pm and started my sessions of sngs. I played some $22 sngs and then tried a session of $33 sngs. I ended up +280 or so from sngs, and then got in the $33 mtt and busted, and then in the $22 mtt just a little later that night. I was pretty far, until i shoved JQ and ran into AK and lost, leaving me with 426 chips with around 45 guys left. I somehow shoved 5 hands in a row AI, and dbled up or tripled up each time, to come back to 26k chips. I kept getting AI ahead, and won a race. I folded one hand where i woulda gotten mopped... I FTed and was in second, and got outplayed one hand by the chipleader, who i thought i had beat, but i really would have felt bad if i went out in either 8th or 9th when i was in second and there were 5 short stacks. I eventually got heads-up, and was a 2:1 dog in chips, which sucked. I finally tried a semi-bluff with a flush draw, but he had the A and i missed my draw, so i got second, but still a nice cash and an AWESOME comeback imo. Today was a long day, half playing and half rooting on alex in the $215 sunday. I wokeup early, even after being out late, to play the $36+3 satelite to sunday, which i cashed in. I was up $50 for the day so i played the $55 mtt and was doing well, until some guy repopped me twice in one rotation, then i raised AQ from mid pos. TJss calls me, flop KQx, i bet out the pot, he calls, turn xs, i push for 1k more chips and he calls, to hit the runner runner flush on me. guess it was an ok draw. Then i played the sunday with alex, which was the first time he had ever played it, which was fun. I missed some sick draws over, and then finally made a nice read and a sweet semi-bluff, only to be called by some donk. http://www.pokerhand.org/?836052 "worst call of the day" imo, but only because i wish he had folded... :P alex ended up getting 180th in the sunday out of 6600, which is amazingly awesome. Pinche day....very pinche...

Today was basicaly stupid all together. I went no where, but down. Every pp was always up against a bigger pp...it blew....and races? haha races blow at times. I was down like $280, but then i played a FPP satelite and won a $215 sunday ticket, so i'm only down $76.06 today, which i'm ok with, all considered. I did comeback from 216 chips int he 2700 FPP satelite w/ 8 left where top 4 got a ticket. So that was money in the bizzank. No school, lots of poker

I woke up this morning ready to go to class, but my water wasn't working so i went back to bed, because i can't go to class smelly...i'm not gobboboy. I wakeup at 2pm, and play 30 sngs total, having a nice run mainly. I also jump in the $27.50 mtt, which i lose w/ 77 v 22 pre, then my remaining 500 chips w/ kk vs TJo pre...good times. I also got in the $33 and $22 mtts at night, but lost 99 vs 66 pre in the $33, and blinded down to shoving KTss in the 22 for bb to call w/ kk. I also backed two of my best friends in the $33 mtt, which has been considered stupid considering my br....but i wanted to do it for this one time. My friend Alex, went out to a river 2 outer, while Greg ended up placing 14th, which was shitty considering how many chips he had the entire time, but he had zero cards, and couldn't steal over the loose raises w/ 9 high. I made $93 off the backing, so i ended out even for the 2 backings. All in all I had a good day for how little i played and having played 3 mtts. If pp's could flop sets....

Today had an awesome start. In my first session I was +180 from sngs, but then had a negative session right after. When i got home from school i decided to play some cash games, which were sick. I counted 46 pp's, and i only flopped 1 set out of all of them. I estimate i called an avg. of $2.5 pre per pp, so that's around $120 or so i lost just from be an ulsoab today. That cash game 2 hour session ended -$125, which put me at -$10 for the day. It ended real sweet too, getting AA ai pre vs AK to lose to broadway for $70. I took a short break and got back into sngs, where the pp's hit twice in about 16 sngs, and i couldn't seem to get away from the worst players at the tbl. i had 1 guy limp on my bb from sb, and bet call my 4x raise w/ k high, then my half stack bet on turn when he hit a flush draw, to take out my floppy top 2 pair. Then i got some guy who basically wanted to be considered as "the worst call of the day." http://www.pokerhand.org/?824334 This guy just couldn't fold his Kx pre, even tho i hadn't reraised any hands before this. I really enjoyed his play tho, it was very interesting. I just kept losing to 3 outers or being ai and behind to a bigger pp. Wasn't a very fun day at all.

Fuck road runner cable isp

Well today started out well, and suddenly sucked big time. I played 40 $22 sngs today, and the $55 mtt as well as the $33 late at night. The first sng session was poopy, but I managed to get 61st int he $55 mtt, due to being behind everytime i got AI. 66 is an awesome hand btw. It's not that i tried to get in behind, but every time i raised i just got repopped, and finally just shoved 66 back at him and he called w/ a weak 88. jaja. I went out shoving AQo for 16k w blinds 600 1200, to have QQ call directly behind me. Then in my next session, I had registered for all 8 sngs, and suddenly my PS crashed... AIM worked, but obv that didn't help me one bit. I had a friend play for me, but he got ul and only ended up placing in one. That really annoyed me, enuogh to get me to eat two peanut-butter and jellys.... yummmmm. I struggled coming back from that all day, having up and down sng sessions. I finally ended up close to even for the day, which i guess is fine. And if this wasn't enough of a bad day, my dam car alarm continued to randomly go off outside, about 20 times tonight, which really drove me insane. WOOOO GIMMMMEEE THAT!!!

Today was day two, and it started out bad but suddenly went uphill. I played 53 $22's in all and after all of them i was + $310 from sngs. It was a long day and i'm glad i finally get to go to bed. I also played the $22 mtt at 12am, but was card dead the entire time. Cashed out $100 and loaned out $77, cause i'm too gullible. First Day Back

Today was my first day back grinding SNG's. I started with $755.11, and played 50 $22 sngs as well as a $22 mtt, $33 mtt, and a $22 hu mtt. I ended up down a very small amount in sngs, and more in my mtts from just bad players. It was pretty awesome... :/ I don't mind too much the results from today, my first time back playing $22 sngs and realizing that i'm playing against those who do not analyze poker to any actual extent. Hopefully tomorrow is better!

I'M BACK!!!

The past week my friend Pat has been backing me for mtt's on ps, ranging from $22 to $33. I kept making it far but kept losing to runner runners or lower pp's somewhat deep. On Saturday Kyle told me that he'd back me for the $33 mtt at 10pm cntrl. I got into it, and donked my stack off early w/ 77 vs QQ pre. I was left with 500 chips, and trippled up with JJ vs 44 vs AA due to my quads. Then I shoved KJ in late pos. and rivered my K vs QQ to dbl up. I ended up making it to the FT and was chipleader 3 handed, until i lost a 80% chip race w/ AQcc vs 77. I struggled to come back, dbled up a couple of times, and then when the donk behind me finally raised me i shoved 22 back at him, and he called his remaining 100k, having put 25k in pre, w/ K5 to beat me. I ended 3rd for around $1653. I'm happy with the way i played, because i totally dominated the final 2 tbls by stealing blinds and playing position on others. Now it's back to the grind of $22 sngs...god those players can be annoying. gl me!
